A message from the Chief of Police:

Greetings to our visitors, friends and neighbors. Welcome to one of the safest communities in Michigan. Crime is half of what it was thirty (30) years ago and major crime is almost non-existent. The men and women of this department take a personal interest in crime fighting. They spend a lot of time being pro-active; to prevent crime before it occurs. Our "team" is committed to serving the entire population equally and with the utmost respect.

Feel free to contact us with suggestions, information or any questions you may have.

Remember we treat our youth as we would want our own child treated -- so should you.

Attention St. Johns Residents:

Make sure to remove your valuables and lock your vehicles! Unlocked vehicles are being entered at night and items taken. The St. Johns Police Department has taken over twenty (20) larceny reports in the last two (2) weeks. Some items taken: Laptops, purses, wallets, GPS, money, cell phones, sunglasses, CD's and other items of value.

NEVER leave valuables in your vehicle overnight and be sure to LOCK your car, truck or SUV--the perpetrators are not "breaking" into the vehicles--they are entering those that are open.

We ask your help in identifying those subject(s) responsible--report suspicious persons or activity by calling 911 immediately day or night.
