Please stop by City Offices to fill out or drop off completed forms (see above) and reserve your pavilion--payment must be received at the time of the reservation and all paperwork must be signed in front of a city employee (witness).  All requests must be approved by the City Manager, Deputy City Manager, or City Clerk.  Call (989) 224-8944 Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM for more information or to check availability of the pavilion you wish to rent.  You may also check availability by going to the Calendar tab above and clicking on Pavilion rental.  Pavilions are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The annual St. Johns Mint Festival is held the second weekend of August each year and provides the entire family with an action-packed weekend. Held at the City Park and County Fairgrounds, over 75,000 people attend activities of the festival such as arts and crafts, flea market, antiques and collectibles, softball, basketball and tennis tournaments, tractor pulls and children's activities. There is also free daily entertainment, a Mint Queen Pageant and mint information and foods. The festival begins Friday afternoon, and then kicks into high gear with the Grand Mint Parade on Saturday. Over 150 entries are highlighted in the parade. Don't forget to get your bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream at the festival!!

Arts and Culture

Our unique community has the privilege of housing the Clinton County Historical Museum (Paine-Gillam-Scott House), as well as the Clinton County Arts Council and the Briggs District Library.  The City of St. Johns is just twenty (20) miles north of Lansing, the center of many arts and cultural activities.

Museum is open from May  - December (closed for holidays and holiday weekends ~ July 4, Memorial and Labor Days, Thanksgiving)


Volunteers at the museum have refurbished an Amish carriage for display.  A carriage or buggy is another mode of transportation featured in the 2017 Early Transportation and Fashion Exhibit.

Visit the museum complex to see the means of transportation through 1940.  Paine-Gillam-Scott House, Swegles Store and the Carriage House are all part of the museum complex located west of the Courthouse at 106 Maple St., St. Johns, MI.

CLINTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Meets the first Monday of the month at 1:00 P.M., November through March; and at 7:00 P.M., April through October.  Meetings are held at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. State St., St. Johns.

Health

St. Johns offers a wide array of health services for our citizens, including, but not limited to a professionally-staffed hospital with physicians ranging in practices from family practice to a wide rage of specialties.  We have rehab and wellness centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home nursing programs, as well as a hospice program.

St. Johns Ministerial Society  

The Ministerial Society is made up of Christian Churches from the St. Johns Community.  Although each church is unique in what it offers by way of its tradition and how it practices its faith, the churches of the society cooperate in various activities and events to make a community-wide impact for the Kingdom of Christ.

ACTIVITIES 

Clinton County Senior Center 

On Mondays the Senior Center has a fundraising lunch that is open to anyone from the general public. Volunteers make a complete meal. The center provides all the supplies, but needs two or three people to make the meals. To volunteer to make a meal either once a month or once every other month, contact Brenda Terpening at (989) 224-7248.

 

Volunteers are also needed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays to serve meals. To volunteer to serve or clean up after these meals, please call Brenda Terpening at (989) 224-7248.

In lasting memory of the Clinton County men and women who serve in the Armed Forces, past, present and future...

The Memorial is located in the heart of downtown St. Johns, in the fourth block of Clinton Avenue.

The Memorial was dedicated on July 4, 2006, to the men and women of Clinton County who served in the Armed Forces. 

Buy a Brick:Honor your Clinton County Veteran--You may purchase an engraved brick that will be used to pave the roundabout of the Memorial.
